Description: The third monograph in this series is Make Every Note Beautiful: A Case Study of the Artistic Pedagogy of Douglas Bodle, by Deborah Bradley. In her research, Ms. Bradley utilized qualitative methods including analysis of her own private studio lessons with Douglas Bodle, observations of other private lessons, analysis of Bodle's university classroom techniques, and interviews with former students, many of whom are now prominent music educators. Ms. Bradley explores those universally important questions for music educators: How does a good teacher teach? How do students learn? How do teachers and students interact in the teaching and learning process? What is "artistic pedagogy?" Through the development of grounded theory and the use of descriptive narratives, Ms. Bradley offers insight into those characteristics which make Douglas Bodle an exceptionally gifted and memorable teacher and performer, an exemplary model for music teachers everywhere.
