St. Michael's is one of the oldest and most distinctive colleges at the University of Toronto. It offers students full access to the complete range of courses offered by the U of T, as well as the College's own Faculty of Theology and four unique programs: Book and Media Studies, Celtic Studies, Christianity and Culture, and Mediaeval Studies. From modest beginnings, with just eight students in its first class in 1852, St Michael’s College has grown to become the largest Catholic post-secondary educational institution in English-speaking Canada. Currently enrolling more than 4,500 full-time students, St. Michael’s has, over the last century and a half, fulfilled its mission by providing Catholic higher education to more than 50,000 men and women.
