The Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Toronto is a centre for interdisciplinary, collaborative research. Civil Engineering is itself a broad discipline that naturally intersects with a wide variety of other academic disciplines, both within engineering (chemical, mineral, mechanical, electrical, industrial, materials science) and within the University (geography, urban planning, economics, geoscience, architecture, etc.).

The Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Toronto is the home to world-class undergraduate and graduate programs, and is an international and national leader in many aspects of urban engineering and engineering geoscience. The Department has a vigorous and growing research and teaching program in both traditional and cutting-edge areas that are shaping where and how we live.
