Abstract: This thesis aims at both developing highly nonlinear Aluminum Gallium Arsenide waveguides(AlGaAs) and demonstrating all-optical wavelength conversion via cross-phase modulation in AlGaAs waveguides at telecommunications wavelengths. This work covers waveguide design, device fabrication, device characterization and system work.
