Abstract: We review dispersion for linear and nonlinear Schrödinger equations, and explain how topological solitons in magnetic fields present new analytical difficulties due to the presence of nonzero magnetic fluxes. We explain how these issues can be understood, and partially resolved, in some model problems related to the Aharanov-Bohm Hamiltonian.
