Generation 2006. Crowded nesting with only 45/1050 cavities at all empty.

Some of these images have stand and nest block numbers and can be compared with records in the generation 2006 SOURCE files in 11.05.

Titles are best viewed after sorting by 'issue date' (= actual field date).

'ONE'354C, detail, plausibly showing the dead adult Ancistrocerus.

'ONE'354C, cavity 1 has 3 generation 2006 nests: Ancistrocerus (parasitized by Chrysis and Melittobia, partly emerged without wintering), Megachile in its wreckage, and Trypoxylon.

'TWO'337, cavity 4, cell of Megachile campanulae (shining solid resin) built against earlier mud wall, most likely that of Ancistrocerus.

'ONE'332, cavity 3, conflict between Ancistrocerus and Megachile. Cavity 4, of the 2 Chrysis cocoons 'ONE' metamorphosed and failed to emerge.

'ONE'31X or 22X Megachile pugnata is possibly the last (outer) nester in each cavity. In 5 an older Osmia coerulescens nest is blocked by M. pugnata.
