3.2 mm cavities. Mother Potter Wasp, Symmorphus canadensis, provisioning.
3.2 mm cavities. Potter Wasp, Symmorphus probably canadensis.
WES117, 4.8 mm cavities. The Potter Wasp Symmorphus cristatus and a Cuckoo Wasp Chrysis cocoon. A large Hylaeus nest at the rear of cavity 4.
3.2 mm cavities. If one searches enough some overwintering nests show changes in prepupal colour and sex. Here, an abrupt change in provisioning is also consistent with the possibility of a change in Symmorphus species, from S.canadensis at left to S. cristatus at right.
WES116, 3.2 mm cavities. Both Symmorphus species, based on diet. Also 3 different prepupal colours.
