This is the unpublished manuscript of the pilot project. For each of the studied species it related the locations of the nests of the new generation to those of the old. Two patterns were suggested: P0 spatially random (Hylaeus spp. only), P1 in or close to the old nests (Osmia tersula, Passaloecus spp, Symmorphus cristatus).

These pilot results were used to predict results for the 2002 field season.
