Abstract: Given good bright lighting, time, and standard colour chips, 6-7 colours can be recognized in nests in the lab. In the ISCC-NBS system of names, if Y, OY and W are the pure yellow, orange yellow and white hues, then these are the sequence vivid Y (82), brilliant Y (83), light Y (86), pale Y (89), yellowish W (92), and the sequence light OY (70) and pale OY (73).
