Abstract: Various discourses of aesthetics are explored in this article to examine the ways in which social identities and relations are explored through practices of drama education. The article uses three different empirical episodes to illustrate how one person’s aesthetic engagement and embodied understanding is intimately tied to another’s in the collective enterprise that is improvised drama.
