Title: Medical education in Europe; a report to the Carnegie foundation for the advancement of teaching (1912)
Authors: Flexner, Abraham
Pritchett, Henry
Keywords: Medical Education
Medical school curriculum
Issue Date: 1912
Publisher: Carnegie Foundation
Abstract: In June, 1910, the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching published a report on medical education in the United States and Canada. There was a prompt suggestion that the Foundation continue the work thus begun by a study of medical education in leading European nations. The present report on medical education in the German Empire, Austria, France, England, and Scotland is therefore the outcome of the first report on medical education in the United States and Canada, and is to a very large extent a necessary supplement to it. It has been carried out under the direction of the Foundation by Mr. Abraham Flexner, who made the previous report.
