|Description: ||The Trudeau Centre for Peace and Conflict is located in University College at the University of Toronto. The Centre has two missions: to provide world-class undergraduate studies and to promote research. The Centre takes undergraduate students beyond the traditional study of international relations to examine the causes of violent strife both among and within countries. It provides: a deep understanding of the interdisciplinary nature of peace and conflict; on-the-ground field placements to augment classroom work; the opportunity, rare for undergraduates, to conduct original research in the field; and direct engagement with the world's top researchers on the causes and resolution of mass violence.
The Centre is also committed to promoting research that focuses on the root causes of forms of violence like war, revolution, genocide, ethnic conflict, and terrorism and that seeks methods to lessen the likelihood of this violence.
